Carbery Construction is looking for a motivated Junior Carpenter to join our growing team. This role is a great fit for someone who has some hands-on experience and is looking to continue developing their skills in residential renovations.
You’ll be working alongside a Lead Carpenter on a variety of projects including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and full main-floor remodels. The role will involve assisting with day-to-day site tasks, learning different aspects of carpentry, and gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills progress.
We’re looking for someone reliable, hardworking, and eager to learn. A basic understanding of residential construction is important, along with a willingness to take direction and be part of a team. Candidates should have their own basic tools and a reliable way to get to and from job sites.
- Assist with day-to-day tasks on residential renovation sites
- Support the Lead Carpenter with framing, drywall, trim, flooring, and basic carpentry work
- Help with site setup, material handling, and general organization
- Maintain a clean and safe job site
- Follow instructions and learn proper techniques and best practices
- Use and maintain tools and equipment properly
- Help with basic layout and measurements as needed
- Work alongside the team to keep projects moving efficiently
- Some experience in residential construction or carpentry (school or on-site)
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Basic understanding of tools and construction practices

You’ll be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, handling hands-on carpentry, and coordinating with trades and suppliers to keep projects on track. Our work primarily includes kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and full main-floor remodels.
We’re looking for someone reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while maintaining clear communication with both clients and our team. A strong background in residential construction is essential, and Red Seal certification (or equivalent experience) is considered an asset. Candidates should have their own tools and a reliable vehicle.
- Run day-to-day site operations on residential renos
- Handle hands-on carpentry (framing, drywall, trim, doors, flooring, basic tile)
- Read plans and ensure everything is laid out and built correctly
- Coordinate with trades, suppliers, and clients as needed
- Keep projects moving on schedule and flag issues early
